Give Me A Sign!

Paws B’Cause deSIGNS is non-profit endeavor run by a singer-songwriter who found another way to express creativity. Debbie Liske started making signs out of repurposed wood for her DIY wedding and has not stopped yet. As a musician, Debbie performs benefit concerts and all proceeds go to various animal charities. The same is true for these signs. They are made using acrylic chalk-based paint, covered in a sealant, with painted-on sayings using oil-based sharpies. All designs are first created in photoshop and then transferred by hand to a type of plywood. There are no attachments for hanging, but the 3M Command picture hanging strips work perfect. The wood is light and easy to handle. The edges are not necessarily sanded down smoothly and the signs are not perfect, but this is exactly the intent. After making several hundred signs, Debbie decided this would be a great opportunity to share her creations with others and support animal charities at the same time.
